The BIAN - Banking Industry Architecture Network (#BIAN) provides a comprehensive model of the business capabilities, business scenarios, service domains, and business objects used in #banking and other #financialservices to reduce costs and manage change through the creation of a set of digital standards and best practices in service-oriented architecture (#SOA) and banking #APIs.

The core of the BIAN reference model is its Service Landscape. The Service Landscape itself is a deep structure of business areas, consisting of business domains that in turn contain service domains.

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป BIAN APIs…what?
BIAN APIs are a collection of banking-related APIs supporting the BIAN Service Domain partitions and service operations in a REST architecture style so that organizations can incorporate them into their API management strategy speeding time to market and improving banking best practices for financial organizations who adopt them.

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป Then…BIAN APIs or Open Banking APIs?
Although both of them are APIs, they are far from being the same.
#OpenBanking is a series of regulations enabling customer data ownership through modern API practices. Thus, they are mandatory.
BIAN APIs are a set of service operations to streamline the adoption of modern banking interoperability for global banks. They are not required and are available to simplify digital transformation.

In this link you’ll find the BIAN Semantic API Practitioner Guide, which describes the techniques for systems technical leads and architects to interpret and apply the BIAN Semantic APIs: https://lnkd.in/dxZtYV5R

By the way, we at Sensedia are experts on APIs so do not hesitate to drop me a message if you need some help.
